My Affiliate Summit East 2012 Diary – Part 1

Well this has pretty much sucked so far…

Not the best way to start my series about Affiliate Summit East 2012, I know… but I’m nothing if not honest about such things. I’m writing this as I sit in the Dallas/Fort Worth airport for the third hour. I have two to go. It was supposed to be a 50 minute layover. American Airlines canceled my connecting flight due to… weather? I think? Nobody was very clear about that; I heard a few things whilst standing in line at the customer service desk, and by the time my turn came around (30 minutes after I got in line), I was too tired, irritated and impatient to care about the reason.

American Airlines canceled my flight
Pictured: a bunch of people who AREN’T ME.

Had I known my connecting flight would be rescheduled for 2pm (and even this one is late and will be taking off at 2:30), I wouldn’t have scheduled my first leg for 7:30am. I’ve been up since 5am (didn’t get to bed until 12:30 last night), and hey, thanks American Airlines, for making that totally worth it!

Well, I’m sure I’ll catch a nap on this flight, and while I’m not doing that, I’ll be writing my keynote speaker introductions and sharpening up for my presentation tomorrow afternoon. My dinner plans for tonight must, regrettably, be canceled, since I won’t be landing until well after 7pm. But I’m like to be at Oldcastle this evening, and no matter what else happens on the trip, everything will be set aright when I order my first beer and shepherd’s pie of the week.

This week’s going to be awesome. American Airlines will not ruin it for me. They will not.
